Research Interests

Dr. Zaman's current research involves developing computational methods for uncertainty quantification and design optimization of complex engineering systems with specific focus on epistemic uncertainty (due to sparse and imprecise data). His research interests are in the areas of probabilistic methods, reliability analysis, Monte Carlo methods, Bayes networks, Model validation, treatment of epistemic uncertainty, stochastic processes, stochastic mechanics, and multidisciplinary design analysis and optimization under uncertainty. Dr. Zaman has worked on a variety of applications in Aerospace, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, and Financial engineering, including multi-level, multi-disciplinary systems.
